Is there a way to run my gmail through the mail that’s already on my computer?

I have a Mac and I want to get my gmail to go through the mail application I have already on my computer. I’m not sure what it’s called on Mac’s, the Outlook like thing, I guess that’s a fitting description.

    Not sure what email application you are using, but this weblink tells you the various ways to configure a mac email program to recieve mail from gmail.
