How do I make GMail automatically go to the next message on hitting Archive, instead of the Inbox?

In Yahoo! Mail, when you’re done with the message you’re reading, you hit Delete or Spam or whatever and it goes straight to the next message in the Inbox. GMail, however, dumps you back in the Inbox and you have to click on the next message to read it. I get a lot of mail so this is inconvenient - can I make GMail behave like Yahoo! in this sense? No, I do not want to just go back to Yahoo! already, I like my GMail.

It’s not possible. It’s a feature the programmers of Gmail would have to implement. So there’s no way to do it.
You can send them a suggestion for it though. See link below for that :o)
