How do I get messages in my Gmail inbox to show only the subject and not the content of the message?

For some reason, my Gmail inbox is now showing not only the Subject of the incoming email, but also the first few words of the message. How to I put it back so that it only shows the Subject line and not the message contents on the main Inbox page? Thanks :-)

While in Gmail, go to Settings > General (tab). Scroll down to where it says Snippets and select “No Snippets”.
